Masury homemaker was active league bowler
Alice Marie "Toni" Swogger Schell, 740 S. Stateline Road, Masury, died at 4:43 p.m. Monday (8-04-08) in her home. She was surrounded by her family, as she had been in the weeks since her diagnosis with cancer. She was 75.
Mrs. Schell was born June 10, 1933 at home in Masury, to Oscar A. Swogger Sr. and Della A. Dignall Swogger.
A lifelong resident of Brookfield Township, she attended Brookfield schools, graduating in 1951.
Alice married Kenneth Schell Sr. on Oct. 25, 1952.
A homemaker, she was an avid bowler with the Wednesday Seniors Mixed Bowling League and Monday Retired Women's Bowling League, both of Thornton Hall, Sharon.
She was the secretary in both leagues and played in many tournaments.
Alice, along with her husband, also played for many years with the Fridy Senior League at Reynolds Bowling Lanes, Transfer.
She attended First Baptist Church, Sharon.
Alice enjoyed camping with her husband and family and spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
Her joyous laughter will be missed by all who knew her.
In addition to her husband, Kenny, she leaves to treasure her memory: her children, Kenneth Schell Jr. and his wife Kathleen Sentelik Schell, Brookfield; Janice Jewell and her husband Dale, Sharon; June Rung and her husband George, Hermitage; and Charles "Chuck" Schell, Elmhurst, Ill; five grandchildren Douglas Schell, Brookfield; Jeremy Jewell and his wife Bethany, Masury; Kimberly Rung, West Miffin, Pa; Christopher Rung, Hermitage; Morgan Schell, Masury;a step-grandson, Michael Hoffman and his wife Julie, Pulsaki; a great-granddaughter Hannah Jewell, Masury; and two step-great-grandsons, Michael Hofffman Jr. and Kyle Hoffman, both of Pulaski.
"Toni" as she was known to her family, also is survived by a loving family circle that includeds eight brothers: Arthur "Art" Swogger, Orangeville; George Swogger and his wife Dorothy, Masury; Oscar "Junior" Swogger and his wife Judy, Masury; Buster "Bus" Swogger and his wife Mary, Akron,Ohio; the Rev.Gary "Butch" Swogger and his wife Beverly, Medina, Ohio; Carl "Frannie" Swogger and his wife Ada, Masury; Rick Swogger and his wife Bonnie, Masury; Jeff Swoger and his wife Andrea, Vienna; and nine sisters, Betty Felicetty and her husband Richard, Masury; Bessie "Sis" Horvath and her husband Richard "Wimp", Masury; Nancy Benak and her husband the Rev. Robert Benak, Marion, Ill; Shirley Wittenauer, and her husband Jim;Vienna; Karen Boyer and her husband John, Burghill; Carol "Sue" Mathey, Henderson, Nev; Georgianna Shingledecker and her husband John "Spanky", Masury; Gail  Longwell and her husband Jim, Burghill; and Della "Dolly" DeVito and her husband, Steve, Brookfield; a sister-in-law , Myrtle Williams who lives with her daughter and son-in-law, Mary and Dan Colllins, in Cooper City, Fla.;and numerous nieces and nephews and extended family members.
Alice was preceeded in death by her parents; her son, Roger, who died in 1991; her brother Howard "Hody" Swoggger; and her husband's parents Dewey and Lena Schell and Goldie and Harry Randall.
Her family suggest memrial contributions be made to West Hill Ministries of First BAptist Church, 301 W. State Street, Sharon16146 or Hospice of the Valley, 5190 Market St., Youngstown, OH 44512.
Mrs. Schell's family would like to thank their huge and wonderful family for all their love and support.
