Carl W. Grabigel, a resident for the past 7 years of 719 Tidball Ave., Grove City passed away at 8:45 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 4, 2007, in Grove City Medical Center, Pine Township, after an extended illness. He was 78.
Mr. Grabigel was born Dec. 31, 1928, in Etna, Allegheny Counnty, to Charles H. and Marie Pletcher Grabigel.
He attend Grove City schools and retired in 1992 from General Electric Corp., Grove City, where he was a welder for 21 years. Carl was formerly employed by Five Filer Brothers, Grove City.
An Army veteran, he served inthe Korean conflict, recieving a Purple Heart in 1951.
Carl was an avid golfer and bowler and belonged to serveral golf leagues throughout his lifetime in Grove City, Harrisville, and Slippery Rock areas.
He was of the Protestant faith and was a former member of the Grove City Jaycees.
Carl enjoyed spending time with his family.
His wife, the former Evelyn M. Oakes, whom he married June 25, 1955, survives at home.
Also surviving are: a son, Gerald W. Grabigel and his wife, Virginia, Mercer; a daughter, Erin K. Oakes a daughter, Erin K. Oakes and her husband Ronald B., Greenville; two grandchildren, Kyle and Abby Grabigel; a sister, Rose Marie Gordon, Grove City; and two brothers, Howard H. Grabigel and his wife Clara, Grove City; and Charles H. Grabigel Jr. and his wife Joann, West Palm Beach, Fla.
Carl was preceded in death by his parents.
Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.

Service
Funeral services at 3 p.m. Saturday (12-8-07) in the funeral home with the Rev. Kent Bell, pastor of the Bethel Life Worship Center, Greenville, officiating.
Interment
Following services at North Liberty Cemetery.
