Sandy Lake native, enjoyed hunting, fishing

 

Funeral will be Saturday for Clarence W. “Bill”  Schell, Grant Street, Utica, Pa. He died at 1:20 a.m. Thursday (4-30-98) at home after a brief illness. He was 69.

Mr. Schell was born Oct. 1, 1928, in Sandy Lake to Clarence L. and Eleanor Blair Schell.

He attended the former Sandy Lake High School and was a Navy veteran.

Mr. Schell retired after 32 years from Chicago Pneumatic Tool Co., Franklin.

He was a Protestant.

Mr. Schell was an avid fisherman and enjoyed hunting.

Surviving is: his wife, the former, Esther Burk, whom he married Oct. 2, 1948; a son, Ronald L. Utica; two sisters, Betty Como, Cochranton, and Mrs. Thomas (Margaret) Kasbee, Sandy Lake; a brother, Henry P., Sandy Lake; and three granddaughters.

He was preceded in death by a son, William L.; and a brother, George.

CALLING HOURS: 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today (5-1-98) in SCOTT A. BLACK FUNERAL HOME, 99 Franklin Street, Stoneboro.

 

SERVICE: Funeral Service at 2 p.m. Saturday (5-2-98) in the funeral home with the Rev. Rachael J. Johns, pastor of First Presbyterian Church of Utica, officiating.

BURIAL: Millcreek Cemetery, French Creek Township, Venango County.
