Leona M. Barnes Leona M. Barnes Leona M. Barnes, 72,
of Basswood Road, Petrolia, died Saturday at 4 p.m. at Whispering Acres Personal Care, Chicora, unexpectedly after a lingering
illness. Born March 24, 1932, in Isle, Butler County, she was the daughter of Albert Garth Mackey and Edith Mackey Brown. She
was a member of the former Berean Baptist Church in Kaylor until its closing, then attended the Fairview United Presbyterian
Church. She was a graduate of West Sunbury High School in 1950. She had been employed at G.C. Murphy and Miller Shoes,
both in Butler, and then was a self-employed upholsterer. Surviving are her husband, James W. H. Barnes, whom she married
Aug. 14, 1954; a son and his wife, Charles W. and Cindy L. Barnes of Petrolia; a daughter and her husband, Michael A. and
Barbara G. McCollough of Bruin, Pa.; two brothers, Charles and Gerri Mackey of Longs, S.C., and Donald and Nancy Mackey of
Butler; three sisters, Dorothy Callen of Harlingen, Texas, Margaret Coverdale of Massillon, Ohio, and Boyd and Charlotte Brown
of Navarre, Ohio; a step-brother and his wife, Charles M. and Jean Brown Jr. of Butler; two step-sisters, Betty DeLoss of
Butler, and Janis Noblit and her husband Daniel of Butler; five grandchildren, Bethany N. and Morgan L. McCollough of Bruin,
Jessica L., James C., and Jacob W. Barnes, all of Petrolia; and a number of nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death
by her parents; one step-brother, Richard Brown; and a sister, Elinor Beck. BARNES - Friends of Leona M. Barnes, who died
Saturday, Jan. 15, 2005, will be received form 2 to 4 and from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the RICHARD D. HILLIS FUNERAL HOME,
102 Argyle St., Petrolia. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home with the Rev. Richard R. Rowe, her
pastor, officiating. Burial will follow in the Hillview Cemetery, Kepples Corners. Memorial donations may be made to the
