William A. Schell

William A. Schell, 82, of 707 Court St., was pronounced dead on arrival at St. Francis Hospital May 21, 1980.

He was born April 3, 1898 in New Castle to Mr. and Mrs. Alfred Schell; who precede him in death. He was employed for 18 years as a millwright for the Crane Company and served on the U.S.S. Pennsylvania in the U.S. Navy. His wife, the former Rebecca Stickle Stitt, preceded him in death in 1958.

Mr. Schell is survived by two stepsons, Robert Stitt of New Castle and Harold Stitt of Tacoma, Wash.; 10 step-children and seven step-great-grandchildren.

Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at John A. Meehan Funeral Home, Highland and Lincoln avenues. A service at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home will be conducted by the Rev. John Sloat of Northminister United Presbyterian Church Interment will follow at Graceland Cemetery.
