John Schell
John Schell, aged 64 years, a former well known resident of Sharpsville, Pa., died this morning at 8 o'clock
at the home of his daughter, Mrs. G. G. Holland, 332 Sterling Avenue, Sharon. Mr. Schell has been ailing for the past several
years and had been blind for the past year as a result of a cataract. Mr. Schell's death came as a distinct shock to many
of his friends. He was born in Hamburg, Pa and spent his entire life in the vicinity. The family formerly resided at the corner
of Third and Main Streets, Sharpsville. He was employed at the Mable Furnace , now the Shenango Furnace No.4, for 21 years
and served several years as a fireman on the Pennsylvania Railroad. He was also employed at the Sharon Steel Hoop for some
time. The following children survive: Mrs. Ella Patton, of Sharpsville, Mrs. Jessie Holland, of Sharon and Carl Schell,
of Youngstown. Two sisters also survive. They are: Miss Mary Schell of DeForest, O., and Mrs. Charles Zinn of Butler. Funeral
services will be held Monday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the home of Mrs. Holland. Rev. R. Harlan McCartney of the United Presbyterian
Church will officiate. Interment will be made in Morefield Cemetery.
