William Edward Schell Sr. of 560 McClure Ave., died at his home at 11:55 p.m. yesterday of pneumonia following a two-week illness. He was 72.
Mr. Schell was born in Snyder County, Beavertown, Pa on March 7, 1883, a son of Daniel Abraham and Alvilda Smith Schell. He married Anna Kasbohm in 1904, who survives.
He was retired as a boilermaker at the former Carnegie-Illinois - Steel Co. of Farrell in January, 1946 and belonged to the Junior Order of United American Mechanics.
Surviving besides his wife are a daughter, Mrs. Thelma Burkhart, at home; two sons, Ira D. Schell, at home, and William Edward Schell Jr. Mercer; a sister, Minnie Fisher, of Sharon; a half-sister, Mrs. Marie Wesling of Sharon; a brother, Ira J. Schell, Sharon, and five grandchildren
